Tic tac toe — also called noughts and crosses — with one change: each player keeps just three pieces, and placing a fourth removes your oldest. Get three in a row to win. Draws are rare but possible if the same position occurs three times.
To play online with a friend, create a private room and share its code or link. Your friend joins from their own device without an account. Private rooms are not ranked, so results there do not change ratings or standings.
Ranked matchmaking pairs you with another player who is also searching. If nobody else is searching within about twenty seconds, you are offered a clearly labelled computer opponent instead, and that game does not affect your rating, your points or your record.
Completed ranked matches are the only games that change your skill rating or add leaderboard points. Ratings use Glicko-2, everyone starts at 1500, and wins against stronger opponents move you further.
You can play as a guest without signing up; a guest record lives in the browser you play in. Signing in is what carries your rating and record between devices.
